SYF SEGA Game Gear mainboard kit 315-5378 v1.2 (dual ASIC, VA0)

• A brand new replacement SEGA Game Gear motherboard, sound board, and power board set, all reverse-engineered with all new components!
• Available in either WHITE or PURPLE board colors (the color of the PCBs themselves)
• Leaking capacitors and batteries can damage the original Game Gear mainboard PCB, sometimes making full replacement of the entire console mainboard necessary.
• This model is compatible with only VA0 model SEGA Game Gear consoles (dual ASIC model)
• All SMD parts are pre-assembled on mainboard, except for the original ASICs
• Kit does NOT include original dual ASICs, cartridge slot connector, or expansion/EXT connector - These parts must be harvested from an original console mainboard by the installer!
• Kit also does NOT include a set of LiPo batteries to install, due to shipping restrictions - LiPo batteries must be sourced by the installer! (See NOTICES section for details)
• This kit is NOT compatible with the original Game Gear display, and an aftermarket display kit MUST be used! (More details below)

Included PCBs:

• SYF GG 315-5535 v1.7 replacement mainboard
• SYF GG power board v1.7 – For use with 3.7v LiPo batteries ONLY, 2x LiPo battery connectors, includes USB-C port, supports charge-and-play
• SYF GG sound board v1.8 – Features tantalum capacitors, stereo audio output support

Included loose components:

• 2x VA0/VA1 Tyco AMP CT style power board and sound board wire harnesses
• 2x Phillips screws
• 1x 32.2160 MHz crystal
• 1x 5-pin potentiometer for brightness adjustment
• 3mm bi-color LED - Install either direction for red/green output accordingly

ASIC compatibility:

• SEGA 315-5378A, SEGA 315-5378B = CONFIRMED
• SEGA 315-5378 (used on very first Japanese mainboards 837-7398-01) = DOES NOT WORK

Aftermarket display kit compatibility:

• BennVenn IPS display kit = CONFIRMED (adapter ribbon required)
• BennVenn GGHD display kit = CONFIRMED (adapter ribbon required)
• RetroSix CleanScreen v1, v2, v3.1 display kits = CONFIRMED (adapter ribbon required)
• GGLCD display kit = CONFIRMED
• RetroKai MagicScreen display kit = CONFIRMED (requires original crystal to be installed on mainboard)
• FunnyPlaying v3.1, v4.0 display kits = CONFIRMED
• NOTE: Other kits may or may not have been tested yet, so compatibility is NOT guaranteed.

• Original cartridge slot connector

• Not all aftermarket display kit and ASIC combinations have been tested, so it is recommended to use a BennVenn Game Gear display kit, sold HERE!
• Original SEGA ASIC (microchip), cartridge slot connector, and expansion/EXT connector are NOT included, and they must be harvested by the installer from the original console PCB hardware.
• Per above, LiPo batteries are NOT included with this kit and MUST be sourced by the installer - Specs: 3.7V LiPo, size 104050, with JST PH 2.0mm connector
