- NOTICE: This product requires soldering! (MODERATE skill level recommended)
- This power regulator is meant to replace the OEM DC-DC converter board that powers the Gameboy Color (or Pocket) game console, and it provides a stable 5V of supply voltage at up to 1A (the other 2 voltages are eliminated)
- This replacement part is ONLY meant for use with aftermarket IPS display kits; It CANNOT be used with a console using an OEM display!
- NOTE: It is advised that you fully remove the old DC-DC converter board from your console before kit installation!
- Complete removal of the original DC-DC converter board is recommended! However, if not possible, please note the following steps:
- On a Gameboy Color: Cut pin 1 and pin 7 on the original converter so they are no longer connected to the Gameboy, and then install the new regulator as shown in the pictures.
- On a Gameboy Pocket: Cut pin 1 and pin 6 on the original converter so they are no longer connected to the Gameboy, and then install the new regulator as shown in the pictures.
- Remove original DC-DC converter, or cut specific pins on it per the above instructions.
- Align the small PCB on the Gameboy as shown in the pictures.
- Solder the 3 shown points (use flux for best results).
- Installation complete!
